Merry & Bright

It was always a tradition in my family when I was growing up. That wander around the neighbourhood, or driving to a nicer one. Peering into gardens twinkling in the night, or front windows filled with sparkling Christmas trees. Fairy lights and tinsel hanging from unlikely places, nativity sets sitting on windowsills, Christmas cards strung up along banisters…

It’s a special kind of Christmas magic to peer into another world and see the warm glow that resides there. It’s both familiar to your own home, but unique to theirs. Part voyeurism too, but not really because it’s allowed. After all that’s why we do it, to share with the world our festive feelings, to light up our little patch of Earth with joy.
