Belmonte Arboretum, Wageningen

Arboretum (noun): a botanical garden devoted to trees.

There’s a lot of nature in this little part of the Netherlands, mostly in thanks to the world famous Wageningen University and staff which dedicates itself to life sciences, agriculture and the environment. It will always be impossible to truly escape into the wilderness in the Netherlands, there’s just too many people and too many roads connecting those people. But, botanical gardens and small patches of woods and fields that have been allowed to grow as they please make quite lovely little ecosystems of their own.
