Postcards from Hamburg

Sarah and I went to Hamburg for the weekend to visit one of her old friends. Of course, the night before a seven hour bus ride I became so ill I couldn’t sleep one wink for coughing and spent the entire bus journey to Hamburg in an incoherent haze. That first night I had to be tucked up in bed at 7pm, having been filled with cold & flu medicine and ginger & lemon tea. Luckily, I was so exhausted by that point that I slept 10 hours and woke up finally feeling human, though as so often happens, I quickly infected poor Sarah too.

We had two full days in the city, being led by the friend, a local and life long Hamburger and it was so nice to be led from lovely place to lovely place without any of the worries that come with navigating a foreign place on your one.

We also went exploring to the Zoologisches Museum and Planten un Blomen.
