The Beast from the East
I didn’t really give it much thought and it was simply luck that I’d done the week’s food shop the day before the madness hit. University was closed (which is good as I couldn’t get the car out the car park never mind to St. Andrews). Sarah was stuck in her flat in Edinburgh, I was stuck in my house in Fife. My parents were stuck in their house too, a few towns over.
I went out to take some pictures and got caught in a blizzard, it was beautiful and wet and fierce all at once. I would have been truly scared if I hadn’t know that beyond the heavy, white air home was only a few minutes away. It was exhilarating and lonely and beautiful and every time the blizzards came I loved it and hated it all at once. Luckily, after a few days Sarah managed to hop on the first train over the bridge and we explored the snow together.
