Eating Cherries & Smelling Roses

On Thursday we took a little cycle on a ferry across the Rhine with no intentions other than to eat fresh fruit from a farmers market and go on an adventure in the glorious summer sun. We got a massive box of cherries from the first stand we saw and ended up in the village of Hemmen where we promptly found our way to the Kasteeltuin (castle garden) and tiny botanical garden that had roses and so many frogs I lost count and a bug hotel filled with cobwebs. It all felt very Famous Five (without the misogyny and racism but with all the wholesome summer hols fun).
