Australian National Botanic Gardens

People will say there’s no reason for a tourist to visit Canberra, and yeah sure, it’s a city purpose built for government officials and academics, sandwiched between Melbourne and Sydney. But, I have to disagree with the haters and the Australian National Botanic Gardens play a very large role in the forming of this opinion. I only got to spend a few days in the lovely city of Canberra but an entire one of these was spent exploring here and they now rank in my top three botanic gardens (which is saying really something since they don’t even have glasshouses!). The gardens are 100% free for everyone and anyone. All native Australian flora, three different rainforests, a little patch of the Northern territory with burnt orange sand, a dinosaur trail complete with misty and mysterious walkways, and more birds and gum trees than you know what to do with.
